Resistance to Wall and Settlement": 11,280 Attacks carried out by Israeli enemy & its settlers in first half of 2025

Ramallah – Saba:
The head of the Commission for Resisting the Wall and Settlements in occupied Palestine, Muayyad Shabban, stated on Monday that the total number of attacks carried out by the Israeli entity in the first half of 2025 reached 11,280.

These assaults were perpetrated by various Israeli forces, including its settler militias, against Palestinian citizens and their properties.

During a press conference to announce the commission’s semi-annual report on the Israeli enemy’s attacks on Palestinian territories and settlement expansion measures in the first half of 2025, Shabban emphasized that this significant escalation in the nature, number, and form of attacks coincides with the ongoing aggression waged by the enemy against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and all areas of Palestinian presence.

He noted that the attacks ranged from imposing facts on the ground (land seizures, settlement expansion, forced displacement), to field executions, land sabotage and leveling, uprooting trees, property confiscation, closures and barriers that sever Palestinian geographical ties.

The attacks were concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah (1,975 attacks), followed by Hebron (1,918), and Nablus (1,784).

Shabban stated: "Over the past six months, the Israeli entity has raced against time in every sense of the word to seize Palestinian geography—not only by establishing settlement outposts, expanding settlements, issuing military orders, or systematically assaulting citizens in villages, towns, and Bedouin communities, besieging and suffocating them—but also through an unprecedented series of legislation and government decisions targeting the very essence of Palestinian geography and its status. This has placed us, as a government, people, institutions, councils, and factions, face-to-face with the most dangerous phase in the history of the Palestinian cause in terms of attempts at theft, annexation, and the imposition of sovereignty."

He clarified that the attacks carried out by settlers during the reporting period totaled 2,153, resulting in the martyrdom of 4 Palestinian citizens at their hands. These assaults included attacks on Palestinian villages, assaults on civilians, setting houses on fire with families inside, shooting at citizens, establishing settlement outposts, seizing Palestinian lands, attacking streets and vehicles, launching organized and dangerous raids—a pattern that has become increasingly prominent in recent months, as seen in the villages of Kafr Malik, Al-Mughayyir, Beitā, Sinjil, and others.

Settler attacks were concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah (491 attacks), Hebron (409), and Nablus (396).

Shabban further explained that since the beginning of 2025 until the end of June, the Israeli occupation authorities deposited and approved 165 structural plans for expanding existing settlements or establishing new ones, including 124 plans in West Bank settlements and 41 in Al-Quds settlements, covering a total of 8,685 housing units in West Bank settlements and 8,865 in Al-Quds settlements.

He added: "In the first half of 2025, settlers established 23 new outposts on Palestinian-owned lands, mostly pastoral outposts, in the governorates of Ramallah, Nablus, Hebron, Qalqilya, Tubas, and Al-Quds—continuing their policy of imposing facts on the ground with full backing from the Israeli army."

Shabban pointed out that during the reporting period, the Israeli occupation authorities seized over 800 dunams of Palestinian land under various pretexts, issuing 36 military seizure orders and one expropriation order under the guise of road construction and expansion.

He also noted that in the first half of 2025, the occupation authorities issued 556 demolition notices against Palestinian structures under the pretext of lacking permits, including 322 inhabited homes, 18 uninhabited houses, 151 agricultural structures, and 97 livelihood-related structures, among others.

Most of these notices were concentrated in the governorates of Hebron (145 notices), Ramallah (131), Qalqilya (49), and Jericho (46). The occupation forces carried out 380 demolition operations, destroying 588 structures and affecting 843 people, including 411 children and 378 women.

Shabban confirmed that the Israeli enemy and its settler militias caused the destruction or damage of 12,067 trees, including 6,144 olive trees, with 5,359 trees in Bethlehem, 2,282 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh, and 1,774 in Nablus—another record number in the targeting of Palestinian agriculture, as part of a clear and systematic effort to empty and devastate Palestinian land.

Shabban renewed his call for all Palestinians—factions, popular unions, syndicates, and the masses—to unite under a national strategy to defend the land and national resources, one that looks solely to Palestine, cares only for Palestine, and views the enemy’s actions through the lens of national responsibility, free from self-interest and malicious grudges.

He also stressed that the current phase brings back to the forefront the urgent and longstanding demand for real and immediate international protection to safeguard the Palestinian people and their national resources against Zionist aggression and bullying.
