The World Central Kitchen announced on Thursday evening that one of its volunteers was killed and six others were injured in an Israeli airstrike near one of its kitchens while distributing meals in Gaza.
The organization said in a post on the "X" platform: "Our hearts are heavy today as we mourn the loss of one of our volunteers in Gaza due to Israeli airstrikes near one of our kitchens while distributing meals."
It added that the volunteer was "tragically" killed and six others were injured.
The organization previously announced in a statement in April 2024 that it would halt all operations in Gaza after seven of its volunteer activists were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting them.
