Hamas has said that "the number of martyrs since the start of the new wave of genocide has exceeded 630, amid a comprehensive blockade and a total ban on all necessities of life."
In a statement issued Saturday evening, the movement added that "the Zionist occupation army continues its brutal attack on defenseless civilians, including children, women, and the elderly, in the Gaza Strip."
It noted that "the crimes of the terrorist Netanyahu government are a blatant and unprecedented violation of international law and a disregard for all human values."
It called on the international community, the United Nations, and the Security Council to "assume their responsibilities regarding what is happening in the Gaza Strip."
It continued, "We renew our call to our Arab and Islamic nation—governments, peoples, and organizations—to assume their historical responsibilities in supporting our people."
Israeli enemy forces resumed their aggression on the Gaza Strip at dawn last Tuesday, following a two-month pause under a ceasefire agreement that went into effect on January 19. However, the occupation has violated the terms of the ceasefire throughout the two months.
The government of Benjamin Netanyahu is refusing to initiate the second phase of the agreement, seeking to release more prisoners held by the resistance without fulfilling the commitments of this phase, particularly ending the war of extermination and withdrawing completely from Gaza.
