Ramallah - Saba:
The Zionist enemy forces stormed the house of the Palestinian prisoner Zakaria al-Zubaidi in the city of Jenin in the northern occupied West Bank, and abused his family members, on the eve of his expected release as part of a prisoner exchange deal with the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).
The Palestinian Media Center quoted local sources as saying: The enemy forces raided al-Zubaidi's house in the al-Jabriyat neighborhood, and tied up his wife and daughter Alaa, in addition to tying up and blindfolding his child Ayham (14 years old).
The sources added: The enemy forces detained the family for hours in the yard of the house.
The raid was not limited to Zakaria al-Zubaidi's house, but extended to include the homes of his brothers Yahya and Jibril, as the enemy forces vandalized their contents and caused severe damage to them.
The Zionist newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth expected that al-Zubaidi would be released during a prisoner exchange deal with the Palestinian resistance today, Saturday.
Zakaria al-Zubaidi is considered one of the most prominent leaders of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades - the military wing of the Fatah movement - in Jenin, and he is one of the prominent symbols of the second Palestinian Intifada. Al-Zubaidi was famous for his role in carrying out operations against the Zionist enemy during that period.
Al-Zubaidi's name also came to the fore again in September 2021, when he was one of the prisoners who managed to escape from the heavily fortified Gilboa Prison, in an operation that the Palestinians called the "Freedom Tunnel."
It is worth noting that the Al-Qassam Brigades - the military wing of Hamas - had previously confirmed its commitment to freeing the four prisoners who were re-arrested by the enemy after the "Freedom Tunnel" operation, including Al-Zubaidi.
The spokesman for the Al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, said in a previous statement: "The heroes of the Freedom Tunnel will leave with their heads held high, and the decision of the Al-Qassam leadership is that any future exchange deal will not take place unless these heroes are freed."
