Gaza - Saba:
Head of the Martyrs and Prisoners Office in the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas Zaher Jabarin confirmed Friday that the obstacles that arose due to the Zionist enemy's failure to abide by the terms of the ceasefire agreement have been overcome thanks to the intensive efforts of the mediators.
Jabarin said in a statement that Hamas has sought from the beginning to achieve a national exchange deal that includes all factions of the Palestinian people, as an agreement was reached on the first stage of the exchange deal, in which the lists of prisoners released will be announced gradually through the Prisoners Office.
He pointed out that the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip was the decisive factor behind the completion of this deal, stressing that this achievement would not have been completed without the sacrifices of the valiant people.
Jabarin called for mercy for the martyrs of Palestine, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded and stressing that the struggle of the Palestinian people will continue towards freedom and liberation.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli cabinet approved the planned deal, which will go into effect on Sunday, January 19, according to a statement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office. This was preceded by an earlier announcement by Netanyahu's office that there were last-minute obstacles preventing Israel from agreeing to a ceasefire, which would end 15 months of war.
