Dozens of Spaniards demonstrated last night in the capital Madrid against the occupied entity, before the match between the Spanish club Real Madrid and the Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv in the framework of the European Basketball League.
The demonstrators gathered in response to the call of some civil organizations in solidarity with Palestine and the opposition "Podemos" party, in front of the "Wizink Center" hall where the match was held, which ended in favor of the Spanish team, and the Israeli team suffered a new defeat that placed it in the last places in the tournament.
The demonstrators stressed that Israel is exploiting sports to cover up the genocide it is committing in Palestine, and called for the necessity of preventing Israeli teams from participating in international sports competitions.
The protesters carried Palestinian flags and chanted slogans: "Boycott Israel," "Israel is a criminal," "Free Palestine," and "Long live Palestine's struggle for freedom."
