Caracas - Saba:
Venezuelan President on Tuesday said his country, Latin America, the Caribbean region and the world "need a strong cultural revolution that defends the best human values and confronts Western decadence and fascism."
"We must do everything we can so that our identity, culture and spiritual strength prevail," al-Mayadeen quoted Nicolas Maduro as saying in statements during the National Culture Award ceremony, so that "the greatest vaccine for our children, youth and ourselves is to practice our culture and demand our identity."
"Although we do not have communication technologies, we have enough to confront the decadent Western culture," President Maduro added.
Yesterday, the Venezuelan president stated that "no one in Venezuela wants military intervention, sanctions and violence, but rather we want freedom, democracy, harmony and unity." He said Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Latin America are the center of the struggle against fascism.
At the conclusion of the "Anti-Fascism" conference, Maduro said: "We have a great mission to save and liberate all of Latin America."
The proposals that came out of this global anti-fascist movement demonstrate the vitality it is gaining, he added, noting that in just a few months, it is already present in 77 countries.
He stated that this global movement must move towards forming a large global anti-fascist alliance; broad and diverse, for peace, democracy and the development of peoples by building and strengthening the capacity to mobilize in all towns and cities, building forces with great influence on social media and social movements with great influence in fields, neighborhoods and universities and working on political forces to struggle and build nations.
