Sheikh Qassem: Salute to Yemen, praise for steadfastness of resistance in face of occupation

Beirut - Saba:

The Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, praised the steadfastness of the Yemeni people in the face of the United States and Israel, describing Yemen as "poor in its potential but rich in its people, leadership and faith," during a speech on Saturday evening on the anniversary of the martyrdom of commanders Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.

Sheikh Qassem stressed the importance of the role played by the martyr Soleimani in exposing the American and Israeli plans in the region, pointing out that the Palestinian resistance continues and steadfast while stressing that the 2024 aggression revealed the weakness of the Israeli occupation after it suffered great losses without achieving significant field progress.

Qassem considered that the battle of "Awli Al-Bass" was a turning point in the history of the Lebanese resistance, as it cut off the ambitions of the occupation in Lebanon, adding that sacrifices are the way to continue confronting the occupation and protecting sovereignty. He stressed that the resistance will not abide by any prior timetables for its action, as it leaves the timing of the response and initiative to the decision of its leadership in the interest of the resistance project.

On domestic affairs, Sheikh Qassem expressed Hizbullah's keenness to elect a president by consensus among political blocs and away from attempts at exclusion, calling for national unity and cooperation to advance Lebanon. He also stressed that the morale of the resistance is high and that its project remains despite the wounds and challenges.
