Nairobi - Saba:
The death toll from anti-government protests in Kenya has risen to 16.
The demonstrations, which saw thousands of angry youths protesting against the country's conditions, resulted in property destruction, with enraged protesters demolishing at least two police stations.
On Thursday, Kenyan Interior Minister Kithure Kindiki assessed the extent of damage to businesses in the capital, Nairobi, where goods were looted from dozens of stores, according to RT.
Kindiki stated that police forces would coordinate with owners of properties damaged in the protests—particularly those with surveillance footage of the looters—to expedite their arrest.
On Wednesday, Kenyans protested in 23 out of the country's 47 counties, calling for an end to police brutality and better governance.
Thousands chanted anti-government slogans and demanded the resignation of President William Ruto.
