Baghdad - Saba:
Iraqi security authorities announced on Friday that a member of the ISIS organization was arrested before carrying out a terrorist operation in Salah al-Din province, north of Baghdad.
The Iraqi National Security Service said in a statement that its forces managed to arrest an ISIS member who was planning to carry out a bombing operation using an explosive device in Tuz Khurmatu district in Salahuddin province.
The statement said the accused confessed to belonging to the so-called "Kirkuk Province" where he was tasked with providing logistical support and explosive materials, in addition to promoting ISIS on social media, adding that he was tasked by ISIS elements to carry out an operation targeting security forces in Tuz Khurmatu by planting an explosive device he had hidden in a cemetery.
Iraqi forces continue to hunt down ISIS remnants in various parts of the country, especially in the northern and western provinces.
