Prisoners' Club states that torture scenes of Ofer prisoners are intended to resonate with Palestinian collective consciousness

Gaza - Saba:
The Palestinian Prisoners' Club considered that broadcasting more videos and photos of the abuse of prisoners inside the prisons of the Zionist enemy, deliberately, is a continuous attempt to target the will of the Palestinian prisoner and to prejudice the collective awareness of his image as a fighter.

The extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, published a broadcast on Wednesday on his X account of his visit to the Israeli Ofer prison, showing the harsh treatment of the occupation soldiers with the Palestinian prisoners who the occupation authorities claimed were from the "elite" forces of the Qassam Brigades.

The Prisoners' Club said in a press statement that Israeli officials are racing to achieve a greater level of savagery to gain more support within Israeli society and satisfy his desire for revenge, "without the slightest regard for humanitarian laws and norms, and an affront to human dignity."

It added that the occupation regime used this systematic policy before and after the war, specifically since the arrival of the current settler government, headed by the extremist Ben Gvir to power, and a state of display of the crimes committed against prisoners escalated.

The Prisoners' Club indicated that these crimes have reached their peak since the beginning of the war of extermination, where the occupation soldiers deliberately filmed the prisoners in humiliating and degrading conditions, pointing out that some of these videos were broadcast by the Israeli media under the title "leaked videos", including the publication of a video clip of a detainee being raped in the "Sde Timan" camp.

Earlier, the Prisoners' Club warned against the circulation of these images and clips, which were not surprising to all those who follow the issue and the Palestinian street in light of dozens of documented testimonies of prisoners inside the occupation prisons, and of released prisoners, about the level of horrific crimes and crimes of torture they were subjected to.

While he said that the majority of Palestinian families subjected one or more members to arrest, he warned of the impact of "the impact of the scenes on the feelings of many families, and this is part of the central goals that the occupation regime seeks to establish in the mind and consciousness of the Palestinians, which is to create a specific image that the occupation wants only."

In April, Ben Gvir called for the death penalty to be applied to prisoners, saying that until such a law is passed, prisoners will only receive food and drink to the extent that keeps them alive, and insisted on giving prisoners the minimum level of comfort under the law.

Since October 7, 2023, prisoners in Israeli prisons have been subjected to terrible torture methods, most notably the policy of starvation to death, and deliberate medical negligence, which is another face of execution, which are retaliatory policies against prisoners that enjoy consensus within the Israeli political scene.

It is noteworthy that the number of Palestinian prisoners since October 7, 2023, exceeded 11,100 from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, according to documentation by the Palestinian Prisoners' Club.
