SANA'A - SABA: Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi on Sunday inaugurated the 18th phase of the unconditional cash transfer project for Social Welfare Fund beneficiaries in the capital and across various provinces.

The event took place at al-Amal Bank for Microfinance, where al-Rahawi was joined by Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Ibrahim al-Hamli.

The project, funded by the World Bank and UNICEF, aims to aid 1.43 million families—approximately 10 million individuals—by distributing 33 billion YER through 2,500 disbursement centers nationwide.

During the inauguration, al-Rahawi emphasized the project's humanitarian impact, highlighting its role in alleviating the economic hardships faced by vulnerable families.

He praised al-Amal Bank’s initiatives to support the poor and small enterprises and its efforts to enhance the country’s economic development.

EEO of al-Amal Bank Mohammed al-Lai detailed the bank's services, including home delivery of cash assistance for families in remote areas.

Director of Banking Services at the bank Bilal Abdullah noted a 1.5% increase in cash assistance this phase, with 600 field teams operating in 41,000 villages and 333 districts across the country to ensure effective disbursement.

The launch follows successful disbursements for disabled and elderly households, showcasing a commitment to improving living conditions in the face of ongoing economic challenges.
