SANA'A-SABA: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants has expressed approval of the Arab Republic of Egypt's stance, which rejects using the Yemeni crisis as a pretext for non-coastal countries to engage in its security arrangements. This position was affirmed by the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration, Badr Abdel Aty, during his latest visit to the United States of America.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Ambassador Wahid Al-Shami, affirmed to Saba that this stance mirrors the strategic outlook of the political leadership in the Arab Republic of Egypt regarding the navigation dossier in the Red Sea and its national security implications.
He emphasized the Republic of Yemen's commitment to safeguarding navigation in the Red Sea and underscored the significance of collaboration among the countries bordering the sea. This cooperation is crucial for ensuring the security of the Red Sea and upholding the economic rights of the coastal nations without any foreign intervention.
He explained that the escalation of tension in the Red Sea is the result of the arrogance of the United States and a number of Western countries and their absolute bias in favor of the Zionist enemy, despite the crimes of genocide it carries out against the people of Gaza and the rejection of these countries of Sana'a's just equation of stopping the war and allowing food and medicine to enter the Gaza Strip in exchange for stopping the siege on the usurping entity by targeting cargo ships heading to the occupied Palestinian ports or affiliated with it.
Ambassador Al-Shami expressed his appreciation to the countries bordering the Red Sea for their refusal to participate in the US aggressive mobilization against Yemen and their understanding of the reasons for the Yemeni decision, recalling the incidents of closing the Suez Canal as well as Bab al-Mandab in similar reasons and circumstances under Arab support.
