ADEN, Jan. 07 (Saba) - A senior officer at the Political Security in Aden province survived on Tuesday an assassination attempt by exploding an explosive bomb planted in his car.
Director of Aden Security Maj. Gen. Sadeq Haid, said to Saba that at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning an explosive bomb exploded in the car of Colonel Saleh al-Qadi on al-Aqabah Road in Sirah district, leading to cutting off one of his feet and burning the car completely.
Investigations are underway to determine the causes and motives of the criminal incident, Haid added.
He stressed that such acts, whatever their motives, do not have a specific definition but they are criminal acts aimed at disturbing the public peace and that the perpetrators of such crimes would be held accountable sooner or later.
The Director of Aden Security affirmed that the security readiness in the province is very reassuring and that such terrorist acts will not affect the national spirit of the people of the province or discourage them from having normal lives and supporting the security forces in facing these criminals and those are behind them.
