SANA'A September 03. 2024 (Saba) — Dr. Kamal Margham, Deputy Director General of the Yemeni Organization for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality Control, led a meeting on Tuesday at Afar Customs Center to discuss inter-agency cooperation and address workflow challenges.
The session included Fahd al-Buraihi, Director of the Customs Center, along with representatives from various government and security agencies.
Discussions focused on streamlining the process for handling incoming shipments, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and optimizing inspection times.
The meeting endorsed the development of protocols for managing rejected products in customs warehouses, including options for destruction or re-exportation.
Dr. Margham commended the collaborative efforts of all agencies and emphasized the need for ongoing improvements in operational efficiency and procedural simplicity.
The Director of Afar Customs Center provided updates on current customs operations and procedural facilitation.
Attendees, including deputy directors and department heads from the Standards Authority and related branches, reviewed progress and discussed mechanisms for enhanced inspection and control of shipments.
