IBB August 26. 2024 (Saba) — Member of the Supreme Political Council Sultan al-Samai' on Monday conducted an inspection of Thi Sufal district and neighboring areas including al-Rabadi, al-Thawabi, and Waraf in Jeblah district of Ibb province.

During his visit, al-Samai' engaged with local council members, sheikhs, and social leaders to discuss the concerns and needs of residents.

He was briefed on local agricultural conditions and directed relevant authorities to supply farmers with essential seeds and seedlings, particularly for coffee, a key cash crop for the national economy.

Al-Samai' highlighted the area's rich tourism potential, noting the blend of natural beauty with cultural and historical heritage.

He emphasized that Thi Sufal and Jeblah are among Yemen’s most significant historical and tourist destinations, boasting stunning landscapes and historical landmarks.

The SPC member described the region’s high mountains, terraced agriculture, and picturesque villages, likening them to being suspended in the sky.

Al-Samai' also underscored the importance of preserving and promoting local tourist and historical sites, such as those from the Himyarite period and early Islamic era, including al-Hamra region, Jabal al-Malik, and various historic forts and mosques.

Addressing agricultural prospects, al-Samai' noted the favorable weather and ample rainfall this year, which supports diverse crop cultivation.

He urged authorities to support farmers and enhance efforts towards self-sufficiency.

Al-Samai' also encouraged businessmen to invest in sustainable development projects in these areas to boost the national economy and domestic tourism.

Residents expressed appreciation for al-Samai's visit, which they see as a demonstration of the Supreme Political Council’s commitment to understanding and addressing their needs.

The residents acknowledged the government’s focus on agriculture and the potential for improved crop production to achieve self-sufficiency.
