SANA'A August 17. 2024 (Saba) - The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects heavy and variable thunderstorms to continue in a number of provinces during the next 24 hours.
The center stated in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that it expects heavy and variable thunderstorms to continue, accompanied by hail and descending winds, on the Tihama plain and the coasts of Hajjah, Hodeida, Taiz and the highlands of Sa'ada, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz and Al Dhale' provinces.
Varying intensity thunderstorms are likely to fall on Al Mahrah, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Al Bayda, Abyan, Aden, Lahj, Al Jawf and Marib provinces.
The center called on citizens to take the utmost caution and be careful not to be in valleys , flood paths , cross land bridges, from thunderstorms, strong winds, hail, low horizontal visibility due to rainfall and fog.
It urged caution and be careful of rock collapses on roads and mountain slopes, and the collapse of mud and popular buildings due to the continued rainfall.
The National Center called on the relevant official authorities to take the necessary measures and procedures to protect lives and property and follow up on the bulletins and reports issued by it
