Sanaa - (Saba):
The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecasted varying intensities of thunderstorms across several provinces, along with hot to extremely hot weather conditions in desert areas, coastal plains, and inland plateaus over the next 24 hours.
In its weather bulletin, the center indicated the possibility of scattered thunderstorms - occasionally accompanied by lightning - over parts of the provinces of Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Bayda, Raymah, Dhamar, Mahwit, Amran, Hajjah, and western areas of Sanaa, Jawf, Saada, as well as the highlands of Lahj and Abyan.
According to the center, the weather will be hot to extremely hot and dry in the deserts, inland plateaus, and coastal plains, while coastal areas will experience hot and humid conditions. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 34°C and 45°C.
Strong to very strong winds are anticipated over the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, and the southern and eastern coasts, with speeds ranging between 30 and 45 knots.
Rainfall amounts recorded over the past 24 hours at meteorological stations were as follows: Al-Mahwit - 58.6 mm, Hajjah - 5.6 mm, Tur Al-Bahah (Lahj) - 1 mm, Al-Saddah (Ibb) - 1 mm, and Taiz - 0.3 mm. Scattered rain also fell in some areas of Raymah, Dhamar, Amran, and western Saada, outside the monitoring stations.
The center warned citizens of potential lightning strikes and advised avoiding valleys and flood paths during and after rainfall. It also urged caution regarding extreme heat and recommended avoiding direct sun exposure during midday hours.
Additionally, citizens, especially seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains in the Socotra Archipelago, eastern Gulf of Aden, and along southern and eastern coasts, were warned about high waves and rough sea conditions.
