OCCUPIED QUDS August 14. 2024 (Saba) - The American NBC News channel revealed on Wednesday, that the Prime Minister of the Zionist entity, Benjamin Netanyahu, presented new conditions last May that would complicate negotiations aimed at the success of the prisoner exchange deal and the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
The channel stated that the indirect negotiations between the Zionist enemy and Hamas, mediated by the United States, Qatar and Egypt, focused on a ceasefire proposal that would temporarily stop the conflict and ensure the release of prisoners.
It indicated that Netanyahu added new conditions, which are that the Zionist forces maintain control over the southern border of the Gaza Strip with Egypt, and impose more restrictions on Palestinians seeking to return to their homes inside the Strip, according to American and foreign officials.
The ceasefire talks had come close to reaching an agreement, but when the outlines of the possible agreement were returned to "Tel Aviv", "Netanyahu was moving the goalposts and proposing new conditions," as a Middle Eastern official told the American network.
