DOHA August 10. 2024 (Saba)- Izzat al-Rishq, a senior leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, has accused the Israeli military of fabricating excuses to justify its attacks on civilians, following a deadly airstrike on al-Tabeen School in Gaza.
Al-Rishq emphasized that the resistance adheres to a strict policy of not being present among civilians to avoid endangering them.
The strike, which took place in the al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, reportedly resulted in over 100 deaths and numerous injuries.
Al-Rishq asserted that there were no militants at the school, contrary to Israeli claims, labeling the incident as a "crime of genocide" and a significant escalation of violence.
He dismissed the Israeli military's claims of using smart weapons to minimize civilian casualties, noting that all victims were civilians, not fighters.
This attack adds to a growing number of strikes on schools and shelters in Gaza, with the government media office reporting that 173 such locations have been targeted since the conflict began, resulting in over 1,050 deaths.
