GAZA August 09. 2024 (Saba) — Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, reported on Friday that 200 children in Gaza have contracted a contagious skin disease, attributed to poor hygiene and inadequate medical treatment.
Dr. Abu Safiya explained that Gaza's hospitals are operating with minimal resources, exacerbating the spread of diseases among displaced individuals living in overcrowded shelters.
He noted a rise in cases of polio and malnutrition, with many affected children succumbing daily due to shortages of medical supplies.
The situation is further aggravated by the lack of intervention from international organizations, which has intensified the humanitarian crisis in the region.
