BRUSSELS August 08. 2024 (Saba) - The European Union has "strongly" condemned the statements of the so-called Minister of Finance of the Zionist enemy Bezalel Smotrich in which he claimed that "starving two million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip may be just and moral" to repatriate Zionist prisoners from the Strip.
This came in a statement issued by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell on Wednesday evening.
Borrell said the EU "strongly condemns Smotrich's recent remarks" made on Monday at a conference in the settlement of Yad Binyamin, in the central occupied Palestinian territories.
He considered Smotrich's statement "very shameful."
Borrell stressed that "deliberately starving civilians is a war crime."
Smotrich's statement "proves once again his contempt for international law and the fundamental principles of humanity", he said.
