SANA'A August 06. 2024 (Saba) — Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population Dr. Mutahhar al-Marwani on Tuesday inaugurated two new specialized clinics at al-Sabeen Maternity and Childhood Hospital.
These clinics, dedicated to maternal and fetal care as well as infertility treatment and assisted reproduction, are the first of their kind among government and reference hospitals in Yemen.
During the launch, Dr. al-Marwani and Dr. Athmar Hussein, Secretary-General of the Yemeni Council for Medical Specialties, were briefed on the clinics' operations.
The facilities feature advanced "Veno E 35" devices with four-dimensional imaging for precise diagnostics.
Dr. Al-Marwani praised al-Sabeen Hospital for its commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and enhancing healthcare services. He emphasized that these clinics align with the Yemeni Council for Medical Specialties' goal to expand specialized medical services in Yemen.
Dr. Majida al-Khatib, Director of Al-Sab'een Hospital, highlighted that the clinics will offer crucial services, particularly for low-income patients, including early detection of congenital malformations and support for infertility treatments.
Al-Khatib also noted plans to establish a specialized surgical center for fetal surgeries and reduce the need for citizens to travel abroad for such treatments.
Dr. Hussein acknowledged the Yemeni Council for Medical Specialties' focus on addressing increased cases of fetal and child deformities.
She emphasized ongoing research and training of national cadres to improve treatment and understanding of these conditions.
