TEHRAN July 31. 2024 (Saba) - Iran's attorney general on Wednesday ordered the appointment of a special team to investigate various angles of the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, commander Ismail Haniyeh.

Iranian news agencies quoted the prosecutor as saying: "Any negligence or mistakes will be dealt with legally and the elements who committed the terrorist act will be held accountable."

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said: "The blood of the mujahid fighting for salvation from the clutches of the Zionist occupiers will never be wasted."

The head of Hamas' political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, was martyred at dawn today, in a treacherous and cowardly assassination that targeted him at his headquarters in the Iranian capital, Tehran, after participating in the inauguration ceremony of the new Iranian president.
