The Wall Street Journal cited an informed source as saying that US forces intercepted at least five drones that attacked its bases in Iraq.
The newspaper said: "US forces intercepted at least five attack drones that were launched at its bases near Baghdad airport and in western Iraq."
According to the newspaper, no casualties were reported, and the identity of the drone launcher has not been revealed and remains unknown.
In a related development, Walid al-Tamimi, the military commander of operations in Baghdad, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on Tuesday morning that an unidentified drone attacked a military camp at Taji base north of Baghdad on Tuesday night, without causing any casualties.
