Washington July 27. 2024 (Saba) - 75 American organizations on Saturday called on the US President Joe Biden and Congress to implement an immediate arms embargo on the Zionist enemy authorities.
A permanent ceasefire requires Washington to put pressure on the head of the Zionist entity's government, Benjamin Netanyahu, by ending the flow of weapons, the organizations said in a joint statement.
The Netanyahu government does not respond to warnings and has used American support and weapons to kill about 40,000 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, including 15,000 children, the statement added.
The statement stressed that it is impossible to claim to work for peace at a time when weapons are being sent that are used to erase generations of Palestinians and enable atrocities to be committed.
"Stopping the sale and transfer of weapons to Israel is the first step to building a future in which Palestinians and Israelis live in safety, equality, freedom and justice," it added.
The statement urged the US government to spend money on domestic issues such as health care and housing instead of supporting violence abroad.
Since the Zionist enemy began its war on Gaza, the US administration has provided nearly 21,000 munitions to the occupation army.
Washington has flown weapons directly and twice relied on emergency rules to bypass Congressional approval.
