MOSCOW July 25. 2024 (Saba) - Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has warned the West against any prejudice to its frozen Russian assets and their revenues, and that stealing Russian money would be the worst course of action for Europe.
Peskov said in press statements on Tuesday: "Europe's theft of Russian assets will not go unanswered, and we are looking into the possibility of prosecuting those involved in the looting of our money."
"Moving frozen Russian assets to help Kiev is the worst path Europe could take," he said.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia's response to the transfer of proceeds of Russian assets to Ukraine would be harsh.
"We have repeatedly warned that we will respond strongly and act in the national interest, and they will feel it."
EU Security and Foreign Policy Commissioner Josep Borrell recently announced that the first 1.4 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine from frozen Russian asset revenues would be disbursed in early August.
