HODEIDA July 24. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting in Hodeida province, chaired by Province Undersecretary Mohammed Halisi, has focused on the executive plan for the national strategy to localize dairy products and the local milk industry.
The session included Assistant Undersecretary for Southern Directorate Affairs, Mutahar al-Hadi, Executive Director of the Agricultural Services Corporation in the province, Hassan al-Tashi, and Industry Office Director Saleh Muhammad.
The discussions reviewed the roles of concerned authorities in supporting the plan to boost milk production and achieve food security and self-sufficiency.
Also present were Dairy Unit Director Hassan al-Adeeb, Agricultural Cooperative Union representative Moath Al-Ahmadi, and representatives of dairy producers and factory associations in Hodeida. They touched on state strategies for localizing dairy production.
Agent Halisi emphasized the contributions of authorities and dairy producers in enhancing local milk production to reduce import dependence. He highlighted the potential of the Tihama Plain's resources in achieving self-sufficiency in dairy products to meet local market demands.
He praised the efforts of various committees and organizations, including the Supreme Agricultural and Fish Committee, the Comprehensive Development Organization and Preparation Committee, and the Agricultural Services Corporation, for their roles in promoting local agricultural and dairy production.
Assistant Undersecretary al-Hadi noted the sector's significance in providing job opportunities in the province, emphasizing its status as one of Yemen's largest productive sectors.
