WASHINGTON July 22. 2024 (Saba) - US President Joe Biden has announced that he will not seek the Democratic Party's nomination for a second term in the 2024 presidential elections.

In statements reported by American media, Biden cited his decision to withdraw as being in the best interest of the Democratic Party. He added, "I will speak to the nation later this week about the decision to step down."

Biden's decision follows strong pressure from party members who urged him to reconsider his candidacy after numerous setbacks during his tenure.

The Democratic Party now faces the challenge of selecting a new candidate within a limited timeframe, with speculation pointing to Vice President Kamala Harris as a leading contender.
