Russian authorities arrested two Moldovan intelligence agents in Moscow on Wednesday. According to their confessions, they were tasked with undermining Russia's security. They face up to eight years in prison.
Sputnik quoted the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) as saying in a statement: "The FSB in Moscow thwarted the illegal activities of Moldovan special services personnel."
The statement added: "It was found that two Moldovan citizens, using forged identity documents, arrived in Moscow to carry out missions assigned to them by the Security and Information Service of the Republic of Moldova (Moldovan Intelligence and Counterintelligence), directed against the security of the Russian Federation."
