RAMALLAH July 15. (Saba) - India has contributed $2.5 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), as part of its annual financial commitment of $5 million for the 2024-2025 period.

In a statement issued Monday, the Indian representation highlighted that India has provided financial support amounting to $35 million up to the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

This support is aimed at the agency's essential programs and services, including education, healthcare, relief, and social services for Palestinian refugees.

During the recent annual pledging conference in New York, India announced that, in addition to financial aid, it would supply medicines as requested by the agency.

The statement also reiterated India's call for the safe delivery of humanitarian assistance.
