BAGHDAD July 1. 2024 (Saba) -Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid condemned the statements of Republican Representative in the US Congress Mike Waltz about the President of the Supreme Judicial Council in Iraq, Judge Faiq Zidane, describing them as interference and affecting the independence of the Iraqi judiciary.

Rashid considered in a statement issued by his media office today that "the statements of the US representative do not only affect the person of the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, but also affect the independence of the Iraqi judiciary, which is a fundamental pillar of the state," warning that such irresponsible statements may affect the nature of bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States of America if repeated.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the day before yesterday its rejection of the statements of US Representative Mike Waltz about the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, considering them blatant interference in Iraqi affairs.
