SANA'A June 12. 2024 (Saba) - The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control carried out a field trip to inspect gas filling stations, water stations and goldsmithing workshops in a number of provinces.
The Authority explained in a statement issued today that it carried out a field visit to inspect gas filling stations and water stations in Hajjah province, goldsmithing workshops in Ibb province, and gas stations in Sa'ada Province to ensure the extent of compliance with legal standards and the absence of tampering, fraud and shading.
Meanwhile, the Director of the Authority’s branch in Ibb Province, Engineer Ibrahim Al-Ashwal, indicated that during the field visit, samples are taken for examination and verification of their compliance with the legal calibers, and stickers are placed on the electronic scales in stores selling gold and silver, which prove that the scale is calibrated by the Authority.
He urged the necessity of ensuring when purchasing gold and silver jewelry that there is a calibration sticker on the electronic scales of gold shops.
In turn, the Director of the Authority’s branch in Sa'ada Province, Engineer Osama Al-Muayyad, explained that the field landing operation targeted 10 central gas stations and more than 100 car gas filling stations in the province center and the districts.
He stressed that legal measures will be taken against violators and tampers with gas filling weights
