Jericho - (Saba):
A group of settlers stormed the Arab al-Malihat community north of Jericho on Thursday evening and attempted to steal sheep.
Hassan Malihat, general supervisor of the al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of Bedouin Rights and Targeted Villages, told the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) that a group of settlers stormed the Arab al-Malihat community north of Jericho and attacked the child, Abdul-Hay Jamal Suleiman, while he was grazing his family's sheep on the outskirts of the community, in an attempt to steal the sheep. They fled after the intervention of citizens who rushed to the child's aid and prevented the theft of the livestock.
He added that this attack comes within the framework of the ongoing escalation against Bedouin communities, which are increasingly facing displacement attempts and pressure from settlers under the protection of the enemy army. In a related development, settlers erected Israeli flags and slogans around the Al-Mu'arrajat Road, which connects the governorates of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Jericho, and the Jordan Valley.
Eyewitnesses reported that a group of settlers erected these occupation symbols on the Al-Mu'arrajat Road, which Palestinian vehicles pass through daily.
Earlier today, settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles with stones at the Al-Mu'arrajat Road junction, near the entrance to the town of Taybeh, east of Ramallah.
Settlers also set fire to a bulldozer in the town of Bruqin, west of Salfit, on Thursday evening.
The mayor of Bruqin stated that the bulldozer that was set on fire belongs to Rami Sabra, adding that five Israeli bulldozers have been razing citizens' lands in the town since the morning, paving roads and courtyards adjacent to their homes, no more than ten meters away.
