SANA'A June 10. 2024 (Saba) - The Water and Environment Center at Sana'a University concluded today,Monday, a capacity building and training program for executive leaders in the road sector.

During the conclusion, the Caretaker Minister of Public Works and Roads, Ghaleb Mutlaq, pointed out the importance of the solutions and recommendations that the participants in the training program came up with to overcome the most prominent challenges facing the road sector.

Minister Mutlaq explained that paying attention to the issue of quality during the implementation of road projects is the bottom line, as it guarantees the sustainability of road projects.

He stressed that the road network now needs significant interventions , funding to maintain, restore and preserve it after nine years of aggression and siege, which requires all concerned parties to coordinate among themselves and unify their efforts in order to achieve the public interest.

The program, which was organized by the Center for Water and Environment at Sana'a University over a period of twenty days and funded by the World Bank through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNPS), aimed to enhance the skills of administrative leaders in the road , bridge sector in identifying and evaluating the problems facing the sector, their causes , impact, and raising their efficiency in developing solutions and treatments. Necessary.

The training included three main programmes: the first was to identify, formulate , evaluate the problems and challenges facing the road sector in Yemen, the second focused on identifying , formulating solutions , proposals to confront priority problems and challenges in the road and bridge sector, while the third focused on preparing , reviewing future plans to confront priority challenges and reduce them from its influence.
