HAJJAH June 09. 2024 (Saba) - In Abs District, Hajjah Governorate, the Emergency Livelihood Aid Project was launched, which is implemented under the supervision of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation.
The first phase of the project, which is being implemented by the Sada Foundation for Construction and Development with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and funded by the Central Emergency Response Fund in several stages, includes the distribution of 500 heads of female goats, at a rate of 4 cattle per family.
At the inauguration, the director of the branch of the Supreme Council in the Province, Allan Fadael, pointed out the importance of the project, which includes in all its stages the distribution of 6,000 heads of goats to 1,500 families to improve the living situation and overcome the conditions imposed by the continuation of the status quo.
Meanwhile, the Director of Statistics at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation, member of the Supervisory Committee of the Emergency Livelihood Aid Project, Mutahar Zaid, and the Province’s Agriculture Office, Hassan Hazazi, pointed out the importance of the project, which contributes to improving food security, resilience, restoring livelihoods to displaced and host families in Abs.
We appreciated the role of the Supreme Council for the Administration and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in correcting humanitarian partners in implementing such projects.
For his part, the director of the Sada Foundation in the Hajjah office, Bakr Hadi, pointed out the foundation’s keenness to implement projects that meet the needs of those affected and alleviate the suffering of the targeted families.
