SANA'A June 09. 2024 (Saba) - The Minister of Culture in the caretaker government, Abdullah Ahmed Al-Kabsi, reopened the Sana'a Fine Arts Gallery in the Ministry’s General Office, after it was restored and maintained by the Basement Foundation.
The gallery witnessed the opening of a photographic exhibition by the Basement Foundation, which contained 21 photographs by seven photographers.
The pictures represent snapshots of the old city of Sana'a, including customs, traditions, fashions, markets, mosques, historical buildings, orchards, and other scenes that show the beauty of the historic city of Sana'a.
Culture Minister in the caretaker government pointed out that the opening of this exhibition has important implications as it is a historical building and in the General Office of the Ministry of Culture, calling on young people to do their duty in preserving the cultural heritage and highlighting their talents by holding many different cultural events.
For her part, the Executive Director of the Basement Foundation, Shaima Jamal, confirmed that the reopening of the Sana'a Fine Arts Gallery at the General Office of the Ministry of Culture and the resumption of Basement activities in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture is an important step in strengthening the Yemeni cultural scene.
She indicated that the Foundation had concluded, during the recent period, a partnership and cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Culture to revitalize the cultural scene , rehabilitate and improve the Sana'a Gallery to hold artistic events and exhibitions that will contribute to strengthening the cultural scene.
