GAZA May 01. 2024 (Saba) -The UN Secretary-General on Wednesday called for inclusive, independent probe into collective graves found in Gaza Strip.
International, independent investigators need to be allowed immediate access to sites in order to find out conditions in which the Palestinians lost their lives, buried or re-buried, Antonio Guterres told media.
War on Gaza Strip damaged the health system, and some hospitals are now like graveyards, the UN chief added.
An attack on Rafah would have devastating impact on the Palestinians in Gaza and dangerous ramifications on the region, Guterres warned.
We should exert every effort to avoid man-made, preventable famine, and convoys, humanitarian facilities, individuals and the needy may not be targeted, he added.
The UN chief called on Israel to accelerate assistance delivery to Gaza, and provide security for escorting teams, including UNRWA.
