KINGSTION April 24. 2024 (Saba) - The Jamaican government recognizes the State of Palestine, the Jamaican foreign minister said on Wednesday, according to local media.

Kingston constantly calls for the 'Two-State Solution' as the only option applicable to end a long-term conflict, secure Israel security and support the Palestinians' dignity and rights, Kamina Johnson Smith added after cabinet session.

The decision comes in line with Jamaica's commitment to the UN Charter that seeks to create mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, she argued.

Jamaica supports immediate ceasefire and an increase in accessibility to humanitarian assistance in Gaza Strip, particularly for women and children who suffer daily, FM Smith added.
