SANA'A April 22. 2024 (Saba) - A meeting in Sana'a on Monday, chaired by the Minister of Water and Environment in the caretaker government, Eng. Abdul Raqib Al-Sharmani, discussed the five-year strategic plan of the Local Authority for Water and Sanitation in the capital's secretariat.
The meeting, which included the Director of the Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation in the Municipality, Eng. Mohamed Madas, his deputies, and general managers, touched on the plans and programs of the Authority and its expansion tasks in water and sanitation services included in the strategic plan of the Corporation.
The meeting reviewed the priorities of the projects within the strategic plan, most notably improving water and sanitation services for citizens in a better way, debt collection plans by geographical maps, and working to overcome the challenges and difficulties faced by the institution.
The meeting reviewed an integrated study of the emergency projects needed by the Authority with the necessary schedules and requirements, especially with regard to closed tanks, extension of network lines, drilling new wells, expansion of water projects and delivery to citizens in different neighborhoods and neighborhoods.
In the meeting, the Minister of Water and Environment of the caretaker government praised the efforts of the leadership of the Local Authority for Water and Sanitation in implementing water projects to alleviate the suffering of citizens, in light of the continued aggression and blockade.
He noted the five-year strategic plan of the Authority, which is followed in accordance with priorities, urging to redouble efforts, enhance the level of performance, improve water and sanitation services, and pay attention to collecting revenues and debt.
Minister Al-Sharmani affirmed the support of the Ministry of Water and Environment to improve the pumping of drinking water to the residents of the capital Sana'a from the expansion of alternative energy projects to overcome fuel problems and reduce demand for diesel during the coming period.
