NEW YORK April 18, 2024 (Saba) -The UN Security Council postponed the voting session on the Algerian draft resolution regarding full Palestinian membership in the United Nations until tomorrow, Friday, after it was scheduled to be held today, Thursday.

At the beginning of this month, the Palestinian Authority asked the Security Council to reconsider the application it submitted in 2011 to obtain full membership in the United Nations.

A country obtains full membership in the United Nations after the approval of the Security Council and then the approval of at least two-thirds of the General Assembly. Obtaining membership will represent full recognition of the Palestinian country.
