UNICEF: Every ten minutes child dies in Yemen
[24/March/2023]

GENEVA March 24. 2023 (Saba)- The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) confirmed that millions of Yemeni children face increased risks of malnutrition if funds are not urgently allocated to war-torn Yemen, where a child dies every ten minutes.

The international organization said in a statement published on its website: "Of the 11 million children in need of humanitarian assistance in Yemen, more than 540,000 children under the age of five suffer from severe acute malnutrition that threatens their lives," announcing that one child dies every ten minutes. For avoidable reasons.

The organization added in its statement: The organization is in urgent need of 484 million dollars this year to continue its intervention in Yemen, warning that if the necessary funds do not arrive, it may be forced to reduce its vital assistance to vulnerable children.
