President al-Mashat discusses with UN envoy peace efforts
[29/October/2019]

SANAA, Oct. 29 (Saba) - President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat on Monday discussed in Sanaa with the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths the efforts being made to move on the peace process in Yemen.

In the meeting, President al-Mashat thanked the UN envoy for his positive attitude towards the initiative he announced on the eve of the fifth anniversary of the September 21 Revolution.

President al-Mashat affirmed that the continuation of siege, the detention of ships and the closure of Sanaa Airport do not help to achieve peace, stressing the importance of the United Nations' role in pressuring the aggression countries to reopen the airport as a step towards peace in Yemen and the region.
