TEHRAN, Oct 2 (Saba) -- Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei expressed hope Saturday that neighboring Iraq overcome obstacles and form its government, calling on all Iraqi blocs to cooperate and unite to rebuild their country and end suffering of Iraqi people, according to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Speaking in a meeting with visiting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Tehran, the Leader described Iran and Syria's political relations as "excellent" and expressed satisfaction with economic and technical cooperation between the two countries.
Khamenei added that there is no two countries in the region that enjoyed such sustained and strong relations for the past 30 years, noting that such relations must be utilize completely.
The Iranian leader stressed importance on promoting cooperation among neighboring countries in the region and expressed hope Iraqi groups would maintain unity and work towards rebuilding Iraq, resolving the Iraqi nation's problems and ending the occupation of their country.
For his part, the Syrian leader described the meeting as vital, adding that both countries enjoy the same goal and joint partnership.
The Syrian leader added that cooperation will continue on various levels and the region will witness more success to come.
