SANA'A, April 22 (Saba) - Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs Mahmoud Al-Junaid and Minister of Communications and Information Technology Eng. Mesfer Al-Nimeer opened Monday the electronic library at the University of Sanaa at a cost of 50 thousand dollars.



The library consists of a hall of 25 computers available for scientific research for students and researchers to access the sources of knowledge in accordance with international standards adopted, servers and surveillance cameras equipped with a solar system that operates around the clock.



In the opening, the Deputy Prime Minister for Services Affairs pointed out the significance of opening of the library under the US-saudi coalition's aggression and the achievements of the heroes of the army and the popular forces and their victories on various fronts.



Al-Junaid considered the e-library project as a real service for students in the field of science and knowledge, stressing that the year 2019 will be a year of construction and achievements as available.



"Yemen will be a unique figure in the region because today we are regaining our will, our identity and our political decisions, and we are fighting a real battle for building and development in all fields," he said.



In turn, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology pointed out that the importance of opening the electronic library in the Faculty of Engineering, which will facilitate many for the students of the college in scientific research and access to references and specialized electronic books.



Minister Al-Nimeer instructed the Public Telecommunications Corporation (GTC) to provide the e-library with faster Internet speeds.


Minister Al-Nimeer revealed the work to launch the Bank of Competencies, which aims to record all outputs of education in universities for employment in government institutions and the private sector. He pointed out that this work requires great efforts and a prize of one million riyals will be allocated for those who won.



The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Mohammed Al-Bekhiti reviewed the stages of the e-library project since its inception last year, as well as the deployed efforts to complete it with the cooperation and support of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and its affiliated institutions.
