SANAA, Nov. 24 (Saba) - A man was injured in a shootout during a brawl in a busy New Jersey shopping mall on Black Fryday, police said, sparking panic on the busiest shopping day of the year.
The reasons for the shooting were not yet clear because the injured man refused to cooperate, but the shooting caused the evacuation of the Jersey Gardens center as police rushed to the scene. Local media reported that 25,000 shoppers had arrived at the mall on the day of discounts.
"It's an isolated incident," said Lieutenant Todd Kelly of the Elizabeth Police Department.
"A man was injured in his wrist in a gallery at the Jersey Gardens shopping mall ... We did not arrest a suspect and the victim does not cooperate in identifying the suspect," he added
Disputes between shoppers looking for black Friday discounts often cause violence.
Eleven Americans have been killed and 116 injured since 2016 on this day, according to a specialized Web site.
