Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation's services continue : Transport ministry
[Tue, 06 Nov 2018 23:24:58 +0300]

SANAA, Nov. 6 (Saba) – The ministry of transport affirmed in a statement obtained by Saba that the Yemeni Red Sea Ports Corporation continues to provide services to all vessels arriving at its ports, in a natural way and with its current modest capabilities, which enable it to provide its services with ease.

The Ministry of Transport denied, the rumors circulated in the aggression coalition's media outlets that the port of Hodeidah is closed and unable to receive ships.

The statement said that these allegations are baseless, pointing out that they are part of the media war being waged by the aggression in order to intimidate citizens.

" The port of Hodeidah provides its civil services to 80% of the people of Yemen, " the statement read, pointing out the loss of 70% of its activity was due to the airstrikes launched by the Saudi-led aggression on the port which caused the destruction of cranes.

The mnistry considered the port to be one of the indispensable humanitarian necessity for the Yemeni people adding that the humanitarian law criminalizes targeting or harming it.

"The nature of the work in the port of Hodeidah is receiving food, relief materials, humanitarian aid and oil derivatives under the current circumstances, in which the Yemeni people suffer from the aggression of the coalition and its unjust embargo imposed by its states led by the Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates," the statement added.
