SANAA, Sept. 20 (Saba) – A husband was martyred and his wife injured when the Saudi brutal warplanes pounded residential old traditional quarters of the old city in the capital Sanaa early on Tuesday, an official told Saba.
The planes targeted the home of Mohammed Hamoud al-Maswari, killing him and fatally wounded his 50-year-old wife, the official said.
It was the latest in a series of air strikes against the UNESCO world heritage old city, Sanaa, in the capital Sanaa.
The old traditional tower-building city has been inhabited for more than 2,500 years. The city contains many intact architectural gems. It was declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations in 1986.
Officials and residents of the city rose their angry voices, condemning the aggression brutal attacks and called international community to press for stopping Saudi barbaric acts of violence against civilians.
