Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that the Israeli army is detaining an WHO staff member, calling for his immediate release.

He added in a post on X platform on Tuesday that more than three weeks have passed since the Israeli army detained an WHO staff member.

Ghebreyesus expressed concern for the employee's safety.

He reiterated his demand for the Israeli army's immediate and unconditional release.
