Manila - Saba:
A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck the northern Philippines this morning, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The agency reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 141.3 kilometers, about 64 kilometers southeast of Kaburan province, located in the northwestern part of Luzon Island, the largest island in the Philippines.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the earthquake, and no tsunami warning was issued.
Earthquakes are a near-daily occurrence in the Philippines, which is located on the Pacific "Ring of Fire," where tectonic plates intersect and where earthquakes and volcanoes are active.
